The Lions are currently taking a short break now that the SCAFL season has concluded. Practice kicks off again on Tuesday June 28. Check back here for details on Tuesday and Thursday training locations when we start back up.

The first game of the SCAFL final is canceled. There will only be two games played this Saturday.
4:30 - Lions vs Outlaws
6:30 - Jets vs Sharks

Lions players be at the field no later than 3:30.

Come out and watch SIX Great Teams Battle for position, and your Local SAN DIEGO Lions earn their place in the SCAFL! There will be food and fun at the ground all day, and plenty of action! This tournament will end the Southern California Australian Football League's Metro Season. Full 18-a-side games begin July 16, 2011. See the Lions Schedule for more info. Memorial Weekend: Lion's Luau

Come join the Lions for our Summer Family Fun Day! 

We will be hosting a club potluck LUAU on Sunday, May 29th, at Admiral Baker Recreational Area in Mission Valley.  Festivities begin at 11AM and go all day.

This park offers: picnic areas, playgrounds, volleyball, basketball, pool & waterslide, horseshoe pits, softball fields.  Plenty of activities for all ages.  Kids welcome.

The club will be providing the roast pig and all the plates, napkins, utensils, etc.  You bring side dishes and your favorite beverages.  Please, send Rob an email with what you will bring, so that we can have a balanced selection. He will be coordinating with the Social Committee to guarantee everyone has a great time.  Feel free to invite friends and family.  

This is family friendly event.

Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt.  Best shirt wins a prize.

SCAFL Round 9 - May 22 (Lions vs War Dogs)

The San Diego Lions travel to Riverside this Sunday to take on the Riverside War Dogs in Round 9 of the Southern California Metro League. Game starts promptly at 2pm. Directions to the field and carpool location after the jump.

SCAFL Changes

Round 9, Sunday, May 22nd, will be held in Riverside (Instead of Long Beach, Hosted by the Saints).
Game 1, 10AM: Outlaws/Sharks - Umpiring Duties: San Diego
Game 2, 12PM: Saints/Jets
Game 3, 2PM: Dog/Lions
(NOTE: Lions need 4 volunteers to help umpire first game at 10AM)

Round 10, June 5th will be held in Orange County (Ladera Ranch) as part of a double-header with Round 2 (rain-check). Games will be played as 2x20 minutes format. Win/Loss and Goals will count toward the ladder as a regular game. Actual games detail (teams and start time) will be provided as soon as possible.

SCAFL METRO Grand Finals are confirmed for Saturday June 11th in San Diego as night games. The field has been reserved until 10:00 pm. We will set up a schedule (start and end times) shortly. Being a Saturday, there are several peripheral activities associated with the Grand Finals such GF award, end of year awards, etc. I would like to extend a special thank you to Board Member Brandon Blankenship for the opportunity to host the SCAFL Finals in San Diego.

TUESDAY TRAINING CANCELLED (5/17)

North Clairemont Training ground has been closed today, due to the rain.
