June 5 Training Canceled

Lions, Tuesday night training is canceled this Tuesday (June 5) because Doyle is being closed for the summer.  Check back for new Tuesday night training location starting next week.  Thursday night training/co-ed will continue as usual (7pm at North Clairemont).

SCAFL Finals This Sunday

The Lions travel to Riverside this Sunday for the SCAFL finals. We'll play the Outlaws at 11am and the winner of that game will go on to play at noon against the winner of the Sharks and Saints game from 10am. The winner of that game will play the OC Jets in the SCAFL Grand Final in Irvine on June 10.

Next Lions HOME GAME is this Sunday (May 20) at
Walker Wagenheim School Park. Lions SCAFL game against the Southbay Outlaws starts at 10am.
There will also be a SoCal Co-Ed game starting at 1pm. Great introduction for anyone interested in our co-ed league starting May 24.

SUMMER Co-Ed Footy League:

The Lions will be holding a free 4 week Thursday night touch co-ed Australian Football league May 24 - June 14. Everyone is welcome, and no experience is required. We'll teach you all the skills you need to play the game. It's a great way to learn to play the game in a social atmosphere and get some exercise at the same time. There's no registration required and don't worry if you can't make it to every session. Just show up ready to have a good time.

SCAFL Game - April 22

The San Diego Lions travel to Orange County to take on the Jets this Sunday. Game starts at 10am at Founders Park in Ladera Ranch. There will also be a SoCal women's co-ed game between San Diego and Orange County at 1pm following the second SCAFL game. So plan to stick around to watch the game or help fill in numbers for the game. This will mark the beginning of an exciting revival of women's Australian Football in Southern California.

Meet at the Del Mar Park and Ride (12791 Sorrento Valley Road, San Diego, CA 92130) at 8am to carpool to the game.

Crawfish Boil - April 28

The Lions' Crawfish Boil is back by popular demand! All the crawfish you can eat and all the beer you can drink for just $25. The crawfish have to be ordered in advance and flown in from Louisiana, so you must pay in advance so we have an accurate idea of how much to order. CLUB DUES: Reminding all players, if you haven't already, Lion's dues are $120/yr. and can be paid in two $60 installments or in full. Use the "Join the Club" tab on the website to pay online by PayPal, or contact Lions Treasurer, Jim Boyer at Practice. (Note: Dues for first half of the year are past due)
