Nationals Results: 2013

In the USAFL Grand Final, Austin Crows took Div. 1 on their home ground, over the Calgary Kangaroos (by just one point!). Leaving the OC Bombers winless, they were only Div. 1 team from Southern California.

Div. 2 had the Columbus Jackaroos upset the LA Dragons, that was a hard loss, as the dragons came prepared, Columbus just wanted the ball more desperately.

Huston ended up winning Division 3 over Sacramento Suns.

In a testament to their rapid development, new teams, the Houston Lonestars and the Sacramento Suns, headlined the Division 3 final with both teams competing in only their second ever Nationals tournament. The Lonestars defeated the Suns3.5.23 to 0.1.1. however, due to some rule confusion the Lonestars had played with 2 extra men on the field. The Suns only realized this in the dying seconds of the game which, unfortunately for them, was too late. - USAFL
Lions Results from day 2, Sunday:
San Diego 1. 1. 7
Houston 4.1. 25

Div. 4 had NC Tigers fell to Cincinnati Dockers.

Finally, the Lady Bulldogs from Denver cleaned out the San Francisco Iron Maidens. Leaving California with a goose egg for the weekend.http://usafl.com/nationals/2013/ladder

Nationals: DAY 1

After two ugly and frustrating games, Lions are ready for our next game against Huston in the morning. We had some problems meshing players who lack game time together, and communication was rough, but we struggled through somehow. If we can start playing like we've been practicing the last few weeks, Houston will fall.

On a ligher note, there were a couple of 'princess' birthdays at dinner tonight, as we consumed Texas BBQ at the Austin Iron Works. Jaydos and Saydo are apparently a year older. (Thanks to Bob, Pokey, Susan, Jimbo, and Shank for the cake).

Results from today's Nationals in Austin, TX.

San Diego 3.4. 22
Portland. 3.1. 19

San Diego 5.4. 34
Kansas City 4.2. 26

Division 3's Pool A currently has the Sacramento Suns and Philly Hawks with 2 wins a piece. These two teams will fight it out at 11am for a spot in the final... however, San Diego who are on top of Pool B as the only team with 2 wins also will need a win against Houston to secure their spot. - USAFL
